What to expect
What time does the worship service start?
Sunday School begins at 9:00AM with classes available for children through adults. Sunday school is available September through May.
Our Sunday worship service is at 10:00AM.
What if I’m just checking you out?
That’s ok! We love to have guests come and check us out. Finding a church is an important decision. Our prayer is that you find a church where Jesus comes first, the Word of God is preached, and where you can belong, serve, and grow in the Lord.
What should I bring?
If you have a Bible, bring it. Having your own Bible helps you to take notes or underline truths in God’s word that are meaningful for you. If you don’t have a Bible, we will have one available for you. Just ask.
Is there childcare available during services?
Update with just basic information. Provide more details on a page dedicated to children/youth ministry under the Ministries tab.
What is the worship service like?
Typically, our services begin with a time of worship. We appreciate a variety of music styles from more contemporary to classical hymns. Worship is followed by a sermon that focuses on teaching from God’s Word. We take the Bible very seriously and seek to honor the Lord through faithful and Biblical preaching. In addition, you will hear some general announcements and learn about upcoming events and opportunities to participate and serve. The service typically lasts an about hour and twenty minutes.
What is the “Alliance”?
If you have never before heard of the Christian & Missionary Alliance (CMA) denomination, “Alliance” may sound a bit odd. The Alliance (CMA) is a family of churches from all around the world that exist to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. The Christian & Missionary Alliance has a very strong emphasis on missions and proclaiming Christ to the nations. While a large number of churches do exist in the US, there are actually many more that exist outside of the US.
For more information on the Christian & Missionary Alliance, check out the CMA website.
What about Communion?
FBAC celebrates Communion once a month, typically on the first Sunday of the month. Following the example of Jesus in Matthew 26:26-29 and Paul’s teachings in 1 Corinthians 11:23-32, we view Communion as a memorial that helps us remember Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf as well as a reminder of His return. We practice open communion which means that you do not have to be a member of the church to participate. Communion is open to all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ.
Still have more questions?
Connect with one of the ministry leaders you see participating in the service. You can also fill out a Connect Card, which can be found at the Welcome Center, or in the seat backs in the sanctuary. Hand it to one of our helpful ushers or put it in the offering box in the back of the sanctuary.
